Hello, my name is
Shashank Goud Kodipyaka.
I build things for the physical world and test.
Currently Senior Software Engineer at Optum Technology Solutions
I'm a Automation Specialist based in Hyderabad, with a passion for leading complex automation and equipment engineering projects in high-tech corporations.
From fading channels to production code
I trained as an Electronics & Communication Engineer at ACE Engineering College in Ghatkesar — a JNTUH-affiliated college (now autonomous) — where my final-year work looked at how signals hold up under noise and multipath interference.
That question turned out to be good preparation for a career in quality engineering. I joined Cognizant in October 2016 as a fresher and spent close to six years there, starting on a banking & investment project and later moving into healthcare, where I worked as a tester and grew into automation. Along the way I picked up the tools of the trade: Selenium, Cucumber, and the enterprise platforms that keep large systems observable and supportable.
Since July 2022, I've been a Senior Software Engineer at Optum Technology Solutions, carrying that same instinct for finding what's broken and reliability into building the software itself.
What I bring to a team
Six years of trying to break other people's software taught me the one thing that matters most in writing my own: assume it's broken until you've proven otherwise.
What I work with
Where I've worked
- Continuing a path from quality engineering into software engineering within Optum's technology organization.
- Carrying a quality-first mindset from six years in quality engineering into how software is designed, written, and reviewed.
- Joined as a fresher on a banking & investment project, then moved into a healthcare project as a tester.
- Progressed through Analyst, Test Analyst, Automation Test Engineer, and Senior Quality Engineer over roughly six years.
- Built automation suites with Selenium, Selenium Grid, Cucumber (BDD), and TestNG for regression testing at scale.
- Worked across enterprise platforms including ServiceNow, HPSM, F5, and Snowflake supporting large systems.
Academic background
- Ghatkesar, Hyderabad — affiliated with JNTUH (now autonomous).
- Coursework included IC applications, microprocessors & microcontrollers, control systems, and CAD/CAM tools (AutoCAD, ANSYS).
- Developed a program to operate home appliances using a Personal Computer.
- Interfaced an LCD and used a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to operate home appliances.
- Co-authored with Anvesh Nalluri, Anirudh S, and Davuluri Sai Teja, guided by Chandu DS, Dept. of ECE.
- Studied MIMO wireless system performance and power allocation under fading-channel conditions.
